for originality and technique i give you five stars. i wrote you a comment before i figured out how to critique- its all new to me.. but i really love your use of ink and tea. thats SO original and impressive and i am in wonder about how you do it. please tell! for vision i gave 3 1/2 because its amazing how such intricate finite detail can look like decay a step away. i find that remarkable. and impact, almost five stars.. because its truly a great piece. i'm interested in the story behind this, if you have one
This piece is fantastic. Now before someone gets all mad because I didn't give 5 stars in every category I want you to know that 5 stars is PERFECTION or very close to it.
The color here is very striking, the darkness of the mass on the right and the faded color with the more jagged line movements creates a very interesting composition.
What makes this piece so striking, if it were to boil down to a single element, is the eye. The tilt of the face puts the eye "on high" so to speak, and the downward glare is... beautifully petrifying.
Originality is a 3 because I have looked through most of your gallery, and although the abstraction in all is different, you focus on portraits. I'm not insulting you in any way, (I'm nowhere near as talented as you) I'm more of saying that I would LOVE to see what you could do to another part of the human body, and animal, a tea cup, anything.
Line art is incredibly difficult, and you pull it off time after time, and this one, along with Roots, is a great show of your skill.
Overall, I really love this piece. Thanks so much for sharing!
