Chaos and order -- that's what came to my mind when I first saw this piece. The artist combines absolutely random lines and dabs with a well-thought, accurate drawing -- and does it with an amazing easiness and freedom. The scribbled text, so successfully incorporated into the artwork, really adds to the overall feeling of a Renaissance study.
My only criticism is not about the work itself (I really don't see anything to criticize here), but about the quality of the photo-reproduction, which weakens the impact a bit. Still, the overall impression from the work is so powerful, that it certainly makes the viewer forget about the representation issues.
