This is a very difficult piece to write a proper critique on as I think it's absolutely beautiful. So I am going to highlight the best parts of the piece, and hopefully that'll assist you. Your use of colour is absolutely stunning- I really enjoy the way you keep the colour scheme so simple. If it were anything more the piece would be too harsh. Secondly, your sketchy style is incredible, it's something that is so unique to your art. It gives the art the free feel that it needs. I wouldn't change anything about this piece-it's very rare that I can see nothing to improve, but this is one of those rare times :) Excellent work!

What captured my attention the most in this picture is how raw it is. All the open space and lightly sketched areas leaves room for the imagination to pour in and take over so that the field and the person appear more real. I like how the field is more detailed behind the person then slowly fades out around them. It draws more attention to the finer details of this work. The posture of the figure could contain a little more action, but overall it still appears as if they are wading through the field and towards the viewer. Overall an amazing job!

He had an outstanding career - I particularly like his working large scale sketches in the Prague Museum, full of life and a side to his work that is hidden under a very graphic style.

Thanks

I am impressed, is there some water color too?

Thank you, no - the colours come from the fountain pen ink and tea and the way it is manipulated. Many inks seem to have underlying colours.
