All in all, a wonderful piece. The left pupil and iris appear to be facing outwards (the darkening in the corner), so adjustments could be made to keep a line of vision continuous for both eyes. Your inking skills appear very refined, gradation and stroke both work fluidly. Distribution of tones is slightly spotty, the viewer's eye is immediately drawn to right eye, then down to left side of chin. Scattering darker tones though the piece might add more balance throughout. Great use of both positive and negative space, color ranges, etc. Very fantastic job, and keep up the great work.

To be honest, I like this more here than in its completed form. I guess I like the softer and simpler tones.

Tips... I struggled for all of first year at Unversity.. trying to make things work.. then I forgot about it and just tried to read and find out about as many artists that inspired me across all backgrounds.. I ended up being very inspired by the work of animators the brothers quay.. that lead to svankmajer, calligraphy, music, kafka, surrealism, automatic drawing, existentialism, outsider art, Henry darger, antonin artaud, joel peter witkin, marquis de sade... and I draw a lot too.. ocd ..
